Author. Business Owner. Survivor. Inspirational Speaker. Clarisa Hyson is the mother of four and a successful business woman. As a business owner, she holds a vision that empowers women, educating and nurturing the whole female by creating a strong support system which consists of speaking engagements at seminars, local groups, soon to be released books, fitness instruction, and a podcast. She is the owner of Words Matter and founded Woman That Shall. Woman That Shall is a platform of support with a mission to equip women with the love, knowledge, and support to conquer every obstacle and situation that life presents with poise and grace. It stands on 6 pillars: faith, health and wellness, life balance and organization, motivational encouragement, self esteem and validation, domestic violence awareness and survivor support. Behind her businesses lies a testimony of a woman who found her voice after feeling voiceless in several abusive relationships and a detrimental marriage. She discovered that she tended to attract abusers, and it seemed to have stemmed from childhood, in which she was told that she was a liar. From there it instilled a fear in her, in which she felt her voice did not matter. It was a struggle to speak up for herself. After being delivered from a detrimental marriage, she committed herself to making sure other women did not feel as invaluable as she did during the end of her first marriage, and that they become bold enough to use that key to free themselves. She does this through speaking engagements, in which she feels led to motivate and inspire. Though she considers her speaking engagements to be more inspirational than spiritual, she speaks on whatever topic she is asked and is led by heart to speak on what is needed at the time. Currently, Hyson is abiding in Columbia, South Carolina. She will officially be a published author early 2020, featuring her book entitled, “Kiera’s New Shoes”, and she is a “soon to be” certified fitness instructor. She is also in the process of releasing her weekly podcast entitled, “Sunday’s With Risa” She’s also spoken at several seminars and women’s groups, carrying the message of “Be the Standard You Want in Life”. You can follow her journey and listen to her inspiring words by way of instagram @Clarisa_Hyson and Facebook @WordsMatter.

![]() Tameka Alicea, is a wonder woman with many facets. Creativity is her middle name, as she has embarked on a journey and birthed her very own online fashion boutique and photography business as the end results. Alicea loved fashion and gravitated towards it at a young age. Because of her love for fashion, she will be relaunching her online store in January of 2020. Her photography business, Tameka Alicea Photography consists of fashion photography, runway, entertainment, and fashion related events. Alicea took a different route in becoming a professional photographer compared to others. She did not always have a passion for photography, nor did she ever think it would become anything more than just a hobby. However, her interest grew as she pursued and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts at the University of South Carolina. She worked on set of various short films and as a production assistant for season 11 American Idol in North Charleston. She had always loved films and was curious about how they were made. So, before she bought her own camera, she would rent the cameras from school and go around campus recording footage and capturing images of anything in my path. Later she realized after looking back at the photos that she was able to capture the beauty in even the simplest of subjects. This is only her opinion of course! Whether it was a person, flower, a tree or a rock, she tried to capture the essence of it. So around her 40th birthday she decided that she would aggressively pursue her newly developed passion. She even booked her first fashion show at her church! In defining herself now as a professional photographer, she has to consistently work hard to increase her confidence. God helps her daily to overcome all doubt, fear and insecurity. She knows that through Him she is more than good enough! It was easy for her to narrow down her area of focus because she always had a love for fashion. It is an art form where she gets to be creative and help others see themselves in a way they could not before. She currently works professionally in various areas of SC, NC and Atlanta GA. She has shot several fashion shows, fashion week events including Columbia Fashion Week and Charlotte Seen Fashion Week and countless photo shoots. She also previously worked as a contract photographer with Intro Talent Branding & Management in Charlotte, NC. Her work has been featured in multiple fashion and lifestyle magazines such as SHE Magazine, The Loop Mag, Hype Hair, VoyageATL, Bellah A’ffaire (cover and spread) and BlaqStardom Magazine. Her belief is that she can create beautifully crafted stories full of life and art in any image she captures. So that is her goal…to Create.Simple.Art.
