You are all together beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.
(Song of Songs 4:7)

Tameka Alicea, is a wonder woman with many facets. Creativity is her middle name, as she has embarked on a journey and birthed her very own online fashion boutique and photography business as the end results. Alicea loved fashion and gravitated towards it at a young age. Because of her love for fashion, she will be relaunching her online store in January of 2020.

Her photography business, Tameka Alicea Photography consists of fashion photography, runway, entertainment, and fashion related events. Alicea took a different route in becoming a professional photographer compared to others. She did not always have a passion for photography, nor did she ever think it would become anything more than just a hobby.  However, her interest grew as she pursued and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts at the University of South Carolina. She
worked on set of various short films and as a production assistant for season 11 American Idol in North Charleston. She had always loved films and was curious about how they were made. So, before she bought her own camera, she would rent the cameras from school and go around campus recording footage and capturing images of anything in my path.

Later she realized after looking back at the photos that she was able to capture the beauty in even the simplest of subjects.  This is only her opinion of course! Whether it was a person, flower, a tree or a rock, she tried to capture the essence of it.  So around her 40th birthday she decided that she would aggressively pursue her newly developed passion.  She even booked her first fashion show at her church!

In defining herself now as a professional photographer, she has to consistently work hard to increase her confidence. God helps her daily to overcome all doubt, fear and insecurity. She knows that through Him she is more than good enough! It was easy for her to narrow down her area of focus because she always had a love for fashion.  It is an art form where she gets to be creative and help others see themselves in a way they could not before.

She currently works professionally in various areas of SC, NC and Atlanta GA.  She has shot several fashion shows, fashion week events including Columbia Fashion Week and Charlotte Seen Fashion Week and countless photo shoots.  She also previously worked as a contract photographer with Intro Talent Branding & Management in Charlotte, NC. Her work has been featured in multiple fashion and lifestyle magazines such as SHE Magazine, The Loop Mag, Hype Hair, VoyageATL, Bellah A’ffaire (cover and spread) and BlaqStardom Magazine.

Her belief is that she can create beautifully crafted stories full of life and art in any image she captures.  So that is her goal…to Create.Simple.Art.  To view more of her work, you can visit her website at www.tamekaalicea.com, or connect with her on instagram, @tamekaalicea_photography, and twitter, @MekaTookMyPhoto!

Tony Cece, Humanitarian Photographer & Video Producer
TONY'S MISSION
While I do love creating videos and taking pictures, it is the story and meaning behind the images that intrigue me. I believe that my heart aligns with the word humanitarian more then it does photographer or video producer. It is an honor for me to be able to tell stories that bring hope to those that suffer. I want my pictures to speak the love and hope I have for these individuals and compel us to take action on their behalf.

As a humanitarian photographer and video producer, I’ve been able to travel the globe telling stories of hope in adverse circumstances. My goal is to preserve the dignity of the people I meet, while simultaneously documenting their needs. I believe that photographs say much about the person who took them and that they are a glimpse into their world through the photographer’s eye. There are many tools at our disposal that help us tell great stories – starting with our choice of what is in the frame, what is left out, what is in focus, the lens we use, the type of lighting and the amount time we spend getting to know what is important to our subject. The decisions I make about these choices reflect what I want to say about the people I meet and the stories they tell.

For me, photographs are a glimpse into the many different areas of our life here on earth. I hear a story and it starts a collage of images in my mind as I try to understand the people, time, and place that surrounded it. It is this collage that I hope to create when I capture moments of everyday life. It is truly an honor for me to tell these stories as we work together to end cycles of suffering around the world.

Picture"Eye-catching" photograph that caught my attention. "Waiting for customers at the open-air market in Bhaktapur" By Tony Cece

Former classmate and Regent University Alumni embarks on a journey to tell the story of the human condition. While scrolling down Facebook's mini feed, my eyes were immediatly drawn to  the rarest form of photography; rich in color, raw in culture, presenting man at his or her most natural and human state, the beauty in its simplicity, the heart-wrenching awareness of causes, and true sincerity are all the characteristics that describe my interpretation of his amazing work.

Viewing his photography was indeed another reminder of how we as Americans take life for granted; the minute problems we face are nothing compared to the sufferings that plague other countries. Cece's photography resonates their ignored adversities. It's these individuals that I admire the most; despite of the adversities, their perspective on life is so hopeful and optimistic, loaded with wisdom, loyalty, persistence,  humility, brotherhood, and faith. Their internal world outshines the external  circumstances.  One of Cece's portfolios that truly spoke  to me the most, was "Weathered Wisdom". With age and every wrinkle gained, comes wisdom. I indeed enjoy sitting at the feet of elders and listening to the stories they share and their nuggets of wisdom. As one that draws as a side hobby, I definitely enjoy drawing the detailed lines of their faces and hands; it's quite therapeutic.  I yearn for more and glean from what they give me, and viewing "Weather Wisdom" spoke on how I personally relate to those of age.

The sincerity of his work and the level of  compassion and respect that he has for the individuals that he photographs speaks a lot on the condition of his heart as an artist , as he states, "My goal is to preserve the dignity of the people I meet, while simultaneously documenting their needs." Cece is not just a photographer, but a missionary as he serves those that are suffering by giving them a voice to be heard among  the masses in hopes that we might  take action. The scripture that comes to mind while viewing his work is Romans 8:19 (KJV), "For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God."

From Former College Roomies & Friends to Business Women :)

PictureRic and Adrienne Dedicatoria, Business Owners
The Dedicatoria's are one the cutest families EVER! Just seeing how much their family and business has grown in such a short amount of time, truly warms my heart. Adrienne + Ric Photography started out as Adrienne Kay Photography in 2009 based out of Alpharetta, Georgia, immediately following Adrienne's completion of Studio Art/Photography Studies at the College of Charleston. At the time, Adrienne Norvell's business was developing and drawing clientele. However around the same time, she meets the love of her life, Ric Dedicatoria :) To make the long story short, they got married, and the photography business went from Adrienne Kay Photography to Adrienne + Ric Photography! Not only were they a little family consisting of Adrienne, Ric, and their sweet dog named Lucy, but they were business partners. Shortly thereafter little Elliot was born, and now they are expecting TWIN GIRLS :) A family of six! When the season came for God's promises for Adrienne, God moved quickly, business, marriage, and children within 3 to 4 years! WOW! I chose Adrienne as the photographer for my dance organization, Aletheia. Dance, Inc because I love her photography and because she's my "salty squirrel" (An inside joke that remains between Adrienne and I ha ha)!

Adrienne + Ric Photography is a husband and wife photo team based in Atlanta, Ga, that specializes in portrait and wedding photography. They have a puppy who they love dearly named Lucinda Charles, Lucy for short.
They have a passion for photography and creating images that tell the story of people's lives. They love to think of photography as capturing those special moments in time, so you can always remember them.
They are non-traditional photographers, and love to create photographs that really bring out the unique personality of the people they are photographing. They are blessed to be able to work together as a team to create wonderful images that people will treasure for a lifetime!
